3. They had a clear, scannable structureH2s, H3s, bullet points — the basics still matter. But more importantly, each section answered a specific sub-question that AI engines might extract. I found that posts with 5+ H2 sections were 2.8x more likely to be cited than those with just 1-2 sections.
I built a simple scoring system to predict which posts would get cited. It's not perfect, but it's better than guessing. One thing I learned: content freshness matters more than I thought. Posts updated within the last 30 days were 2.5x more likely to be cited than older content.
